Lite Bite - Session aims:
This will develop your understanding when dealing with public protection incidents concerning coercive and controlling behaviour.
Learning outcomes
- Identify and explain the key definitions, legislation and guidance associated with coercive & controlling behaviour.
- Describe the impact of abuse on a victim. Recognise the signs. Identify the offences.
- Police Response - Make the victim(s) safe - Use BWV while obtaining initial account and conducting DARA interview.
- Identify and relate to the different types of potential abuse that may be evident at a domestic incident.
- Explain and apply risk assessment methods as part of the police response and victim protection policies.
