The DASH Checklist
HALF DAY ONLINE TRAINING EVENT
Target Audience
This training is suitable for designated safeguarding leads, or those responsible for safeguarding protection children.
This session is therefore aimed at all staff including:
- Local Authority (Children’s Social Care, Early Help, Youth Justice Service, Housing, Adult Social Care)
- Police across all grades
- Health Care including health visitors, midwifery, clinicians, GPs
- Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) from school
- Probation Service Practitioners and Managers
- Voluntary and Community Sector
- Faith Sector
Training Description
DASH is not just a form! This half day event will support professionals in their understanding of the DASH, the application of DASH, and how it links to safety and protection. Professionals will be encouraged to focus on their professional judgement and how to link this to coercive control. This event will encourage the use of DASH as a tool to assist ongoing case management and safeguarding practice including where people do not consent to onward referral to specialists .
Learning Outcomes:
- Consider learning from local and national Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews / DARDRs, (previously Domestic Homicide Reviews / DHRS)
- Highlight how to apply an understanding of coercive control to the use of the DASH checklist
- Enhance understanding of evidence-based risk factors relevant to domestic abuse
- Consider the importance of professional judgement within DASH
- Increase confidence in the use of the DASH Risk Identification Checklist
