Key objectives:
1.Comprehend Desistance Theories: Understand various desistance theories as a foundation for effective interventions.
2.Recognise Gang Challenges: Identify challenges faced by young people in or around street gangs to gain insights into their experiences.
3.Explore Role of Young Women: Understand the unique challenges young women face when leaving gangs.
4.Examine 'Phasing Out' Approach: Study the concept of 'phasing out' and how to apply it in engaging young people at different gang membership levels.
5.Locate Support Resources: Identify available support and resources in your area to guide young people toward appropriate services.
Aims:
This interactive online webinar empowers professionals to explore insights and develop the skills required to support young people in their journey towards desistance from street gangs.
Participants will engage in thought-provoking discussions on effective gang exit strategies and have the opportunity to address their own concerns related to their practice.
