HCA - Therapeutic Life story work training
This 1 day- training will be facilitated by Carole Platteuw-
Qualified play therapist, EDMR practitioner & accredited Theraplay practitioner
Life story work is a crucial piece of work which involves understanding the whole-child, involving/educating the carer, enabling the child to make sense of past losses and develop a sense of permanence (or security) in their current family.
This work happens within a number of sessions and within the context of a relationship.
The training will cover:
- Essential preparation for LSW
- Involve the carers where possible
- 6 Cs model working with the whole child.
- Relationship building and creative activities
- Connection to the body
- Practical Strategies to enhance attachment
- Coherent Narrative
- Techniques to help children process early life experiences
- Techniques to use to help children make sense of their past
