HCA - Talking with children and young people about loss and bereavement

Children and young people who are cared for outside of their birth families have lived through significant losses. It can feel hard to know how to talk about this in a way that is helpful for the child or family members. We all have different ideas and tell different stories about what we believe happens, what people should do, and how to talk about loss and death which can create challenges to talking together. 

This workshop aims to help those who attend grow their confidence in having simple, open and respectful conversations about loss and death.

Social workers and other staff in Haringey Children’s Services interested in sharing their experiences and developing their understanding and skills in working with children and young people who have experienced loss and bereavement.
