HCA - Managing abusive conversations using Non-Violent Resistance techniques
During our work lives we will be in communication with people who feel angry and direct this towards us. Anger can get in the way of positive working relationships and can be difficult to manage on a personal level.
This workshop aims to:-
- Provide suggestions from NVR theory that may help us to position ourselves differently within these relationships.
- Offer space to reflect on the experience of working with angry people and to share existing wisdoms about what has worked.
- Enable participants to leave the workshop with fresh ideas and feeling more confident at managing the anger that is directed towards us.
Who should attend?
- Social workers and other staff in Haringey Children’s Services interested in sharing their experiences and developing their understanding and skills in working with people who direct anger towards us.
