HCA - Learning from audits workshops - Online

Target Audience – Team Managers, Senior Practitioners, Social workers and family support workers.

Course duration: 1 hour (11:30-12:30pm)

These workshops focus on capturing and sharing key learnings from the Quality Assurance audit activities. The objective is to reflect on key findings, identify recurring themes or issues, and promote continuous improvement across teams and departments. These workshops aim to explore key areas of social care practice and identify good outcomes for children and families.

Learning Objectives:

• Share insights and learn from completed audits
• Highlight examples of good practice and areas for development.
• Learn how to evidence good practice in case recording and decision making.
• Understanding key audit themes and their impact on practice and outcomes.
• Identifying practical steps to address common practice issues and improve quality.
• Encourage shared ownership for embedding audit learning into day-to-day practice.

16^th October 2025 - Quality of Assessments – what is a ‘good’ child and family/well-being assessment, strengthening analysis and impact and Child’s voice in assessment, assessment that is inclusive of the whole family (siblings, father’s, stepparents)

25^th November 2025 Management Oversight/Supervision – Strengthening supervision records, actions aligned with the child’s care plan, include findings from Improvement Plan in audit activity.

16^th December 2025 The Voice of the Child – Direct work, demonstrating how the child’s lived experience shapes planning and intervention.

16^th January 2026 Planning and Review - Incorporation of the family and social network, SMART Plans, outcome focused. Risk Assessments/VVE Tool and Neglect Tool.

24^th February 2026 Embedding Practice Standards – Strengthening Case Records through quality basic data, chronologies & Genograms.

24^th March 2026 Equality and Diversity – Capturing and responding to identity needs in practice. Diverse background and impact analysis.
