HCA - Introduction to Interpersonal Dynamics Model of thinking about children and young people

The interpersonal dynamics model of consultation offers a simple way of thinking about repetitive and problematic relational patterns that might be happening between us and service users who we are trying to help. The model uses a structured and systematic process to understand better what may going on subconsciously in the relationships between service users and professionals. The consultation is designed to help professionals think about how to better support these service users and to help the processing of difficult emotions and communication within a wider team.

 This workshop aims to:-

• Introduce the ID model of consultation to participants.
• Give participants the opportunity to experience of being part of an ID consultation.
• Provide space to think through what aspects of the consultation may be useful to take forward when supporting our colleagues with their practice.

Who should attend?

• Social workers and other staff in Haringey Children’s Services interested in sharing their experiences and developing their understanding and skills in ways of moving forward in their relationships with service users that feel problematic and/ or stuck.
