Gambling Harms - Awareness & Reduction training
We are offering an opportunity for all colleagues and wider partners in Haringey to broaden their knowledge around the impact gambling can have on children, young people, and their families.
Did you know that..
• 1 in 7 of Haringey’s residents are affected by Gambling Harms
• The fiscal costs of gambling harms to Haringey is £8.2 million per year, this includes social care, NHS, homelessness and the criminal justice system.
• Public Health England Gambling Harms Review (2020) evidenced its association with child poverty, neglect, homelessness, debt and domestic violence and linked with co-morbidities of drugs, alcohol and mental-health
• Black and Ethnic Minorities gambled less overall, but where there was harmful gambling, it was more intense and devastating for the individual and their families.
We invite you to a bespoke gambling harms training delivered by GamCare to ensure you have the knowledge to support the children, young people and families affected in Haringey.
