HCA- CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE: CENTERING THE VOICES OF SURVIVORS TO STRENGTHEN OUR SAFEGUARDING RESPONSE.
This is an all day in person event facilitated by the Reign Collective.
The Reign Collective brings together the lived experience of adult survivors of child sexual abuse to shape better practice and understanding. This learning event centres their voices, with a focus on intra-familial abuse. Together, we explore how survivor insights can transform the way we protect and support.
The learning event will explore:
- Legal definitions and key terminology
- Recognising signs and challenging stereotypes
- Myths and misconceptions about sexual abuse
- The impact of personal beliefs on professional responses
- Barriers to support and long-term effects of child sexual abuse
- The role of language and multi-agency collaboration
- Practical guidance on supporting survivors
- Best practice examples and case studies
- A toolkit to help children communicate in non-verbal ways
- A live Q&A with survivors for deeper engagement
This event will launch our children social care training programme on intrafamilial child sexual abuse encompassing supervisory practice and front line safeguarding.
The event is for: Supervisors, front line workers, leaders within children social care and key partner agencies involved in safeguarding children.
