Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) - Training Programme 2026

Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) training programme.

This programme consists of 3 half day sessions to equip front line practitioners with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to embed FGDM in your work.

Session 1 explores:

What is it? What does this look like in Haringey?

Why we use FGDM?

The continuum of family engagement.

The values underpinning the approach.

Case Studies.

Session 2 looks at:

Establishing who is part of the network.

Dealing with resistance.

The range of tools available to identify key people in a child and family’s life: Genograms, Ecomaps, Connectivity circles, Family safety circles and Culturagrams.

Session 3 delves into:

Preparing for family network meetings.

Valuing the whole story.

Creating a family plan.

Reviewing the plan.

The training dates have now been published below. Please register at your earliest convenience. Each booking includes three sessions, and completing all three will fulfil the full FGDM training requirement.
